 KENNEDY GIVES SPEECH, NEWS SHOCKS AUDIENCE 

Indianapolis, Indiana 

Robert F. Kennedy gives a speech that shocked the audience with news of Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination on April 4th 1968. 

 

Robert F Kennedy came to Indianapolis today to deliver a presidential campaign speech, but instead he told the audience about the deppressing news regarding DR. King’s assassination. 

"What we need in the United States is not division; what we need in the United States is not hatred; what we need in the United States is not violence or lawlessness, but is love and wisdom, and compassion toward one another, and a feeling of justice towards those who still suffer within our country, whether they be white or whether they be black."
